I’m always amazed at how well some people’s ability to cope with the most horrendous situations can be . Sometimes I feel as though I’m falling apart and I don’t even know why. So it’s easy to keep your feelings to yourself because you don’t want people to think you are weak or that your always moaning. Who is anyone to imply that their problems are bigger than yours and tell you that they don’t want to know what’s going on for you because your “only” depressed. I do believe that depression can be beaten somehow and I firmly believe it’s very possible to be truly happy but, there is no shame in asking for and needing help to get there. We all need help at some point in our lives and without the support of others life Would be even harder than it already is. So why then if mental health is what we need help with, is it so hard to ask? And why are so many still unwilling to open their hearts and minds to a very real and huge problem ? It’s important to get the message across that’s it’s not your fault for suffering with depression, the more open and honest we can be on the topic of mental health the less frightening it may be. You should be entitled to open up without shame or prejudice as its an illness not a choice. Don’t give up on happiness because I really do believe it’s achievable but only when the stigma is finally dropped will more people heal.
